Dr. Eiichi Nishimura graduated from Showa University School of Medicine in 1995 and obtained a PhD in medicine in 2001. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Utah, John A. Moran Eye Center in the United States from 2010 to 2012. After returning to Showa University Fujigaoka Rehabilitation Hospital, he has been professor since 2015. He has performed more than 1,000 cataract and vitreous surgeries each year. He serves as a Board member of both the Japanese Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (JSCRS) and the Japanese Society of Ophthalmic Surgery. Additionally, he is also a member of the Program Committee of Japanese Society of Ophthalmological Society and an Editorial Board member for the JSCRS.
