Dr. Florian Kretz is the director of the Eye Academy Ahaus of the Eyeclinic Ahaus-Raesfeld-Rheine, Germany. He has been a consultant for University Eyeclinic, Heidelberg, Germany. Dr. Kretz is a senior researcher for the International Vision Correction Research Centre (IVCRC) and David J. Apple International Laboratory for Ocular Pathology and the International Vision Correction Research Network (IVCRC.net). His fields of interest are cataract and refractive surgery with a special focus on intraocular lens optics and the evaluation of new surgical techniques. He is a Young Ophthalmologist Committee member of the ESCRS and an active member of 10 international ophthalmological societies. In 2015 he was voted one of the Top 40 under 40 in ophthalmology by The Ophthalmologist.
