Dr. Hidemasa Torii is currently an instructor of ophthalmology at Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from Keio University School of Medicine in 2004 and joined the faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology at Keio University in 2006. His work includes research on some epidemiological studies and clinical trials on myopia, developing new technologies for suppressing the progression of myopia, and cataract surgeries. He got the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Film Festival Grand Prize in 2018. The title was “Violet Light Can be a Superhero against Myopia Pandemic”. Dr. Torii is a regular reviewer of several ophthalmic journals.
