Dr. Kensaku Miyake graduated from and received his Doctor of Medicine degree at Nagoya University School of Medicine. He directs the Shohzankai Medical Foundation, Miyake Eye Hospital. His speciality is surgical biology and pharmacology on Cataract IOL surgery. He served as president of Japan Ophthalmologists Association, Japanese Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons, JSCRS and International Intra-Ocular Implant Club (IIIC), and is an emeritus member of the Academia Ophthalmologica Internationalis. He delivered more than 10 named lectures including Ridley Lecture at IIIC, Binkhorst Lecture at ESCRS, Binkhorst Lecture and Kelman Innovator’s Lecture at ASCRS, Lim Lecture at APACRS and Susruta Lecture at APAO, and received numerous awards including Japanese Ophthalmological Society Award and Alcon Research Institute Award. Dr. Miyake has published more than 250 papers in peer review journals.
