Takefumi Yamaguchi, MD PhD, received his MD from Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan in 2002, followed by residency and clinical fellowship (cataract and refractive surgery, Mentor- Professor Kazuno Negishi), also at Keio. Dr. Yamaguchi completed a clinical fellowship (Cornea, Mentor: Professor Jun Shimazaki) at Tokyo Dental College. From 2011, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow (Ocular Immunology and Imaging, Mentor: Associate Professor Pedram Hamrah) at Schepens Eye Research Institute, Department of Ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School, Boston, and conducted clinical and translational research on in vivo analysis of corneal immune cells. Dr. Yamaguchi is currently Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, Tokyo Dental College, and has been awarded various grants as PI, which support residents and cornea fellows.
