Dr. Kim is Professor of Ophthalmology at Duke University Eye Center, where he serves as principal and co-investigator on a number of clinical trials and research grants from the National Institutes of Health and other institutions. He has published over 200 journal articles, textbook chapters, and scientific abstracts and is editor and author of three textbooks on corneal diseases and cataract surgery. He has delivered over 200 invited lectures nationally and internationally and has received the Achievement Award and the Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).

Dr. Kim was recently inducted into the International Intra-Ocular Implant Club and is consultant to the Ophthalmic Devices Panel of the FDA.
